Mr. Pritish K. Sen requested Mr. R.P. Ritolia , Advisoe
Mining, IMR to chair the session on Panel discussion.
Other members in the session were Mr. Aurindam Dey,
MD, IMR, Mr. Debraj Mukherjee of tata Steel, Dr. B.
Bhoi of IMMt, Mr. B.P.Sarkar & Mr. J.K. chatterjee of
Steel tech, who took seats in the dais.
Mr. Ritolia gave his introductory remarks and assured
the audience to make the session interesting and
interactive although it is generally a challenge in a post
lunch session. he mentioned about the ambitious plan

of GoI of having 300 Mt of steel production by 2030
-31 and up to 500 Mt by 2047 from the current level
of around 110 Mt. For steel industry to grow, ferroalloy
industry also needs to grow adopting advanced
technologies and technological up gradation
